About the role
This full-time Financial Accountant and Data Reporting role at FTA Insurance in Sydney. It will see you play a key part in the company’s financial operations and data reporting initiatives. You will be responsible for entering and maintaining accurate financial records, financial returns, co-ordinating audits and providing reporting to the business. You will work directly with the Managing Director to achieve the company’s financial objectives.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring Xero is up to date in a timely and accurate manner
- Preparing and submitting (where needed) monthly, quarterly, and annual financial returns, eg monthly stamp duty, BAS, payroll tax, workers compensation, Lloyd’s reports etc
- Preparing standardised monthly and quarterly (and other ad hoc) data reports
- Being responsible for payments including entering them in the banking system
- Being repsonsible for payroll and recording sick leave and annual leave
- Co-ordinating annual ASIC audit and Lloyd’s audits
- Reconciling accounts and ensuring the accuracy of financial records
- Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial support and guidance
- Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions
- Ad-hoc finance and data projects and tasks as required
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial accounting
- Strong proficiency in financial reporting and Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
